FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What IS a 'replacement window'?
The term replacement window is used to distinguish our windows from those made for homes being newly built. Typically, replacement windows are NOT made in standard sizes…but instead, are each built to specific, custom sizes to accommodate your home. All Window Depot USA windows are made to custom sizes, to fit your home.
How much do replacement windows cost?

According to the 2015 Cost vs. Value Report, published by Remodeling Magazine, the average price for a high quality replacement window, across the US was approximately $962.00.  You can see this report here:

But here’s the great news:

Because of our tremendous national buying power, Window Depot is able to offer you the most highly efficient products available (proven with U.S. Dept. of Energy Data) at a fraction of this average price.

Not only that…but one of the reasons we’re growing so fast, is that we are America’s Triple Pane Company.  Our prices for our triple pane technology are often LOWER than our competitors dual pane prices.  Wow.

How do I compare different replacement windows?
Replacement windows can be considered to be the most important energy-saving appliance in your home. We encourage you to speak with more than one replacement window company; to compare and contrast product and service offerings…and to become as educated as you possibly can before making this investment.

When comparing windows, we suggest scrutinizing and comparing the following: Raw Materials (PVC), Hardware and option design, Aesthetics, Strength and Sturdiness, Warranty…and most importantly, Energy Efficiency as validated by the U. S. Dept. of Energy and Energystar.

Window Depot USA would be delighted to provide you with an in home presentation that touches on all of these topics, so that you can make the very best decision possible.

How do I know that your products are top quality?

All of our windows are manufactured by one of the 100 largest replacement window manufacturers in America.

All of our replacement window products are tested and certified to Third Party agencies like NFRC, AAMA and EnergyStar. Our local sales consultant can and will provide you with the certification numbers and references that back up the data. We prove it.

How much energy will we save?

The truthful answer is, we don’t know. In fact, no one knows. This is because there are so many variables to this ‘equation’. The utility savings that you can expect from new replacement windows depends on where you live, the construction of your home, your old windows, and the configurations of the new windows.

In our experience, savings range from 12-27%. But we’re not satisfied with this answer! We want to prove it! How? RESFEN.

The US Department of Energy supports a Window research initiative called RESFEN, which is a computer simulation program that gives us the BEST known estimates for home improvement energy savings. We would be glad to run a RESFEN report for your home, just ask one of our consultants.

Unfortunately, a lot of window companies provide energy savings ‘pledges’, that are NOT based on RESFEN analysis. Why? Because they believe you’ll never take the time to follow up. Sad but true. We don’t believe in that type of approach.

What about all the companies that advertise $189 for any size installed?

In the last several years, you’ve probably seen a few companies across the country that have advertised like this.  There are a couple important things to remember and consider.

FIRST: Providing even a “ball-park price”, “up front”…is a recipe for disaster.  There are a great many variables to consider when replacing windows.  Energy Savings, Design and Aesthetics, Carpentry and Construction, Warranty, etc…  In many instances, the “up front” price ENDS UP a great deal higher…after factoring in exactly what you need and want for your HOME.  This can seem misleading, and be quite upsetting to homeowners who expected a certain price ‘up front’.  We choose not to conduct our business in this manner.

SECOND:  When was the last time you received great service and a great product, from a company that went to market as the absolute cheapest? Our guess is NEVER. There is a HUGE difference between cheap prices, and FAIR prices. Window Depot USA offers the best combination of price and value in the industry, because our prices are incredibly affordable. Our prices are fair…not cheap.
